Hubby had the day off on Tuesday and suggested a trip to the beach. We got everything ready in the morning then waited til Morgan's usual nap time to head off in the car. It was over an hour's drive to Narrabeen but our wee man stayed awake the whole time, babbling away and enjoying the view out the window. Just another reminder to myself that you never can tell what's gonna happen with a toddler!
We arrived at lunchtime so headed to the first cafe we spotted. Morgan had a great time bouncing up & down on the couches and watching people, cars & buses go by out the window.
After lunch we headed to the beach and plonked ourselves and belongings on a pristine patch of sand. The beach was almost deserted except for a couple of sunbathers, the joys of going on a weekday. Morgan had fun playing in the sand with his new bucket & spades sent over from NZ. We took him down to the water's edge for a dip, which he wasn't too sure about at first but he soon got into it. I think the water was a bit cold for him to sit down so he bent down and flicked water back through his legs instead. Very cute!
We left around 2pm to try to avoid peak hour on the motorway and our wee munchkin slept the whole way home. A great day had by all!

P.S. just discovered Photoscape for editing my pics, thanks to a super informative post from Simone at Greatfun4kids!

Yay, i took my 4 to the beach on Sunday, it was glorious, like you, we were the only people there, it was cold but children don't care!! We were in Sydney for a few days, we live in the only inland city in Australia (Canberra) so had to soak up the beach while we could. Love Posie
ReplyDeleteLove little people at the beach it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteAwww, sounds perfect! It's so great when little ones are happy travellers and their naps seem to just slot into a day out perfectly like that (of course it doesn't always go to plan... but you have to treasure those perfect days!).
ReplyDeleteLoving your photos and editing!!! Yay for the beach. xoxo
