Hubby's Birthday

Yesterday was Hubby's birthday and the poor man had to go to work. To add insult to injury, his big brother embarrased him by having his birthday announced over the intercom for all to hear. The joys of working with family!

Meanwhile at home, I hung the birthday sign outside, baked my fav choc cake and did my best to tidy the house, despite my wee munchkin deciding to only have an hour's nap. It was a stinking hot day in the west, seems like summer has arrived early, eek! The temp has been in the low 30's the last couple of days and is set to continue.

Our sis-in-law and kids came over in the evening, along with another couple and their little man, and we enjoyed a yummy bbq with summer salad and fresh rolls. Our 4yr old nephew entertained us with his funky dance moves while we ate. After dinner the older kids played with toys strewn all over the house while the little boys splashed about in the bath. Then it was time for birthday cake, the highlight for my niece & nephew as they got to help their uncle blow out the candle (I only had a number 1 candle left over from Morgan's birthday, so I told hubby it's because he's Number 1 Hubby/Daddy!). Morgan clapped appreciatively after the singing and enjoyed smashing a piece of cake into his mouth.

After cake our visitors went home, Morgan went to bed and Hubby & I watched a bit of telly. A fun evening had by all.
