On Sunday my bro & sis-in-law came to visit along with my niece. We had a yummy afternoon tea and it was good to catch up. Morgan was starting to lose interest in some of the food I'd brought with me, despite having eaten them before. So after our visitors left, we went to the supermarket to buy vegies for puree-ing. Morgan wasn't interested in going down for his arvo nap so by the time I got him into bed that night, he'd been awake for 7hrs. He then made up for it by sleeping 12hrs that night!
Monday was a lovely day, although quite cool in the morning. After Morgan's morning nap, Mum took him for a walk to visit my Grandma while I cooked up the vegies. Tuesday was another day spent at home. Mum had a tummy bug so we just lazed around the house and caught up on reading. Despite Mum getting a collection of baby toys together, Morgan's favourite was the cardboard roll from inside the handy towels. He had a bit of a chew on the end then realised his voice echoed when he made noises into the roll, so that kept him entertained for ages! Wednesday was a lovely day and Mum was feeling much better, so we walked to the Marewa shops for coffee & cake. We sat out the back in the cafe garden and Morgan was entranced by the birds hopping around the ground eating crumbs. On the walk home we spotted a random ear of corn growing on the side of road. So strange! It even had a corn cob growing on it. Amazing that it was so big and hadn't been trampled on or broken. In the arvo Mum's friend Maureen came to visit. She is an expert knitter and showed me how to knit my peggy squares together, very straightforward but she gave me some handy hints to make it look tidy. Morgan made Maureen feel welcome by crawling over to her feet and sucking her toes! Friendly boy!

We were looking forward to Thursday as Dad had taken the day off so we could go out & about (Mum doesn't drive). Unfortunately Thursday morning came along and he'd caught Mum's tummy bug. Poor Dad! He spent most of the morning in bed, then after Morgan's nap he dropped us into town and went home again. Mum & I visited Maureen in her awesome Trade Aid shop (I always find something to buy there and it goes to a good cause) then wandered through town. We sat out in the sun and had a coffee while Morgan slept in his pram. My oldest nephew Matt popped out for a break from work to say hi and meet his baby cousin. He then came over for dinner that night with his new girlfriend. I can't believe my first nephew is now 19 and has a serious girlfriend. I remember the day he was born! Wow I feel old!
On Friday we caught up with my aunty, cousin & her little girl. In the arvo, while Morgan was down for his nap, I went to get my messy hair cut. Sooooo good to have a wee bit of pampering and look tidy for once! Saturday was our last day in Napier. In the morning we popped in to visit my Grandma again and take a '4 generation' pic. Morgan was his usual entertaining self. That night Mum made our family favourite dinner, Corned Beef Pie..yum! Enjoyed with a nice glass or two of L&P of course! The rest of the evening was spent packing, ready for our road trip the next morning.
